Youth Development Practitioner Fellowship
The Center for Excellence in Youth Development, in partnership with the University of the District of Columbia Community College (UDC-CC), is now offering the Youth Development Practitioner Fellowship with an eighteen credit Certificate in General Education (Out-of-School Time).
The Certificate in General Education (Out-of-School Time) builds staff capacity in youth-serving organizations through a set of core courses offered over the course of three semesters. The core courses were selected based on the knowledge and skills youth development workers in the District of Columbia need to help youth reach positive knowledge, attitude and behavioral outcomes.
Professionals in a variety of youth-serving fields and organizations, such as community-based organizations, government agencies, faith-based groups, community recreation and correctional professions, coaches and counselors are encouraged to learn more and apply.
The fellowship covers admission fees, tuition and books for the full certificate program based on program guidelines. Fellowship funds awards are designated for the following courses:
> EDPY 144 Human Growth and Development*
> ECED 214 Teacher, Child, School, Community Interaction
> ECED 215 Developing Social Behavior in Children and Youth
> ECED 225 Administration and Supervision of School-Age Programs
